The museum is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday-Friday whenever the university is in session.
The museum is not open during university holidays, closures, or weekends except in special circumstances

The McKinney Museum was established in 1998 to supplement the Department of Geology's teaching mission. The museum's goals are to provide exhibits to be used in teaching college-level geology courses and to conduct public outreach to help the general public better understand geologic processes and contemporary geologic events.
